Mukondeni Young Chiefs defender Bear “Borodha” Ramaremela put in a monster performance to completely bottle former PSL and international striker Judas Moseamedi.

The lanky defender’s excellent performance inspired a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Selwane White Vultures in a fiery ABC Motsepe League clash at Selwane Sports Stadium.

The game was tight at 0–0 at halftime before Selwane threw on the experienced Moseamedi in the second half, hoping he could change the course of the match. But Bear was all over him like a rash, marking him tightly, cutting off every pass, and denying him even a sniff at goal.

Even with his strength and clever hold-up play, Moseamedi couldn’t get a chance, thanks to Bear’s reading of the game, aggression, and composure under pressure. The youngster made life miserable for the Vultures’ frontline and kept the home fans on edge throughout.

The breakthrough came late when Thanzi “Cruiser-the-Punisher” Mbezi picked his spot from inside the box and slotted home the winner like a sniper, sending the Young Chiefs bench and travelling supporters into raptures.

The performance was even more impressive considering it was just Bear’s third game for the club. Hailing from Ga-Raphahlelo in the Sekgosese area, the lanky defender is quickly making a name for himself as one of the league’s most promising defenders.

Coach Joel Mongalo was over the moon after the final whistle.

“I was very happy the whole night, and even today I am still happy,” said Mongalo. “I’ve always wanted to beat Selwane. Last season we drew 2–2. I’m chasing my goal of winning the championship, and I will not give up.”

The win lifts Mukondeni Young Chiefs into third place, just one point behind Tzaneen United, keeping their title ambitions alive. Next up, Young Chiefs travel to Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM), while Selwane White Vultures host Lebash Football Academy, desperate to bounce back from the narrow defeat.
