Josy United boss Joseph Machete remains optimistic that his side is still firmly in the race for the Regional Men’s Hollywoodbets League Baobab Stream championship, following a timely resurgence in form.
The team enjoyed a productive week, registering two valuable victories to collect a maximum six points—results that have significantly improved their position on the log and revived belief within the camp.
Central to that renewed optimism is the return of Kamogelo “KG” Raseekela, whose experience in the ABC Motsepe League is expected to add much-needed steel and leadership to a youthful Josy United squad as the season enters its decisive phase.
Raseekela is no stranger to high-pressure football, having previously turned out for several ABC Motsepe League sides. His understanding of promotion battles and the physical demands of senior men’s football makes him a valuable asset in a league where margins are often fine.
Machete confirmed that the decision to bring Raseekela back was deliberate, as the team looks to balance youthful energy with experience.
“Our squad is young and talented, but experience becomes very important at this stage of the season,” said Machete. “KG has played at a higher level and knows what it takes to manage games. His return gives us leadership and calm on the field.”
Despite the challenges that lie ahead, Machete insists the title race in the Baobab Stream is far from decided.
“We are still in it. It’s not over yet. We can surprise them,” he said.
With momentum on their side and Raseekela’s experience strengthening the spine of the team, Josy United will be hoping to maintain their winning run and keep the pressure on their rivals.
As the Regional Men’s Hollywoodbets League Baobab Stream heads into a crucial phase, Josy United’s blend of youthful ambition and seasoned know-how could yet prove decisive in the chase for championship honours.
