Moletlane Texas are eager to defend their LSA Super League title when the 2026 season resumes.

The Limpopo Softball Association (LSA) Super League season is set to resume in earnest when the 2026 Super League fixture program pitches off at Ga-Nchabeleng diamonds on March 15. The resumption of elite league season comes after the recent relegation/promotional playoffs held at Lebowakgomo diamonds.

All the Super League clubs are expected to descend to Ga-Sekhukhune to trade bats.

The league season gets underway coincidentally when the provincial softball governing body is preparing for the upcoming 2026 edition of the National Provincial Championships (NPC).

LSA tournaments director, Brown Nkune said that before all the teams could travel to Ga-Nchabeleng, they must have adopted the fixture program.

“Following the promotional/relegation playoffs, a preliminary  fixture program was drafted and sent to all the affiliates. Clubs are expected to go through the fixture, and if there are comments or disputes, be thrashed out immediately. We held a virtual meeting on the evening of March 5 to deliberate on the fixture.

“As the custodians of the ballgame in the province, we remain steadfast in our mission to keep the softball flame ablaze through both regional and Super League. We are hopeful that this season will bring more action to our loyal fans in townships and villages. Through mass participation, our talented players will be entertaining supporters during the duration of season;” said Nkune.

Head coach of the men’s team, Thapelo Seshoka, expressed delight, saying the resumption of the Super League will help a great deal ahead of the inter-provincial showpiece.

Seshoka and his charges are expected to defend their national title when the tournament blasts off at Red Sox stadium in Kempton Park later this month.

Limpopo will be in Ekurhuleni solidly entrenched as the reigning champions for several successive years.

Seshoka said, “We are going to use these league games to find our rhythm after a long break during the off-season season. However, we are not only going to rely only on the league games but also through training camps. The league games will help with strength and conditioning while the camps will be more focused on strategies and techniques. “We are going to the NPC fully aware that every province sees Limpopo as a major threat. So, we have to prove to the softball fraternity once again that Limpopo is the home of softball, and to achieve that respect, we need to continue winning the national championships.”
