FC Rellen have officially been crowned Baobab Stream champions with one game still left to play after opening an unassailable lead at the top of the Hollywoodbets Super League standings.
FC Rellen were awarded three points by walkover after Freeboys FC failed to honour their scheduled home fixture. The free points proved enough to secure the stream title as Rellen stretched their lead to more than eight points above the chasing pack.
Second-placed Ramaroka suffered a major setback in the title race after dropping crucial points in their recent fixtures. Ramaroka were beaten 2-1 by Mphehli Real Rovers before being held to a 1-1 draw by Josy United, results that effectively handed the advantage to FC Rellen.
FC Rellen will conclude their impressive league campaign this week with a fixture against Rabadia in the final match of the season.
Speaking after securing the Baobab Stream title, FC Rellen coach Lebusang “Shakes” Manyakalle said the team remains focused and will approach the upcoming playoffs with caution and proper preparation.
“We will take one game at a time and prepare thoroughly for the Champ of Champs playoffs,” said Manyakalle.
With the Baobab Stream title already secured, attention now shifts to the upcoming playoffs as FC Rellen look to continue their excellent form and fight for promotion. Supporters will be hoping the team can carry their momentum into the decisive matches that could determine their future.
