Carecca Nkondo is hoping to write his own chapter in the Nkondo football story after completing a move to National First Division side Upington City FC.

The 20-year-old midfielder joins Upington City from Black Leopards, who were relegated at the end of last season.

Nkondo made his First Division debut with Lidoda Duvha and showed enough promise to attract the attention of Upington City, where he will now continue his development.

The youngster comes from a footballing family, with his father Musa Nkondo having enjoyed a successful career at the highest level.

Musa was one of the country’s outstanding midfielders during his playing days and represented Santos in the Premier Soccer League.

Carecca has inherited some of his father’s football qualities, particularly his ability to pick a pass and read the game.

Despite his young age, the midfielder often plays with the composure of a much more experienced player. He has an excellent passing range and an ability to anticipate situations before they develop.

He has also shown that he can make an impact in the final third, with important goals adding another dimension to his game.

Now, with his move to Upington City, Carecca faces the challenge of establishing himself at the next level while carrying the expectations that naturally come with being the son of a respected former professional.

The youngster has big shoes to fill, but he is beginning to create an identity of his own.

His next challenge will be to turn his promise into consistency as he looks to make his mark with Upington City and continue the football legacy started by his father.
