Magezi FC’s ambition to make an immediate return to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) is beginning to take shape, with the relegated top-flight club sitting at the summit of the National First Division after an unbeaten start to the campaign.
Magezi have collected 13 points from their opening five matches, winning four and drawing one as they continue to establish themselves as early promotion contenders.
They opened their campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory away to Midlands Wanderers before producing another 1-0 win over The Bees at home.
The team then delivered their most convincing result of the campaign so far, securing a 3-1 away victory over Leicesterford City.
Their winning momentum continued with another 1-0 victory away to Highbury, before they were held to a 1-1 draw by Hungry Lion in their most recent match at home.
The five-match unbeaten run has placed Magezi one point clear at the top of the table, with Casric Stars on 12 points from the same number of matches.
Magezi will now look to maintain their position at the summit when they host North West University this weekend, with another victory potentially strengthening their early claim for a swift return to the PSL.
