MJM Hotspurs FC have emerged as the Mopani representatives from the Hollywoodbets Regional League after winning the Nedbank Cup preliminary round for regional league clubs.
Hotspurs edged Nhlahla Northern Bucks 1-0 in the final at Burgersdorp Artificial Turf on Saturday to secure their place in the next phase of the competition.
The victory means Hotspurs will now face the winners from the other regions as they continue their Nedbank Cup journey.
The regional winners will then face the team that emerges as the Nedbank Cup champion from the ABC Motsepe League in Limpopo.
The ABC Motsepe League preliminary-round winner in the province has not yet been determined.
For Hotspurs, Saturday’s victory represents an important achievement as they now have the opportunity to test themselves against stronger opposition from across Limpopo.
Their next assignment will therefore carry even greater significance, with a place in the provincial stages at stake.
