National First Division side Baroka FC Coach Dan Malesela is making an amazing impact for his youthful “Bakgaga ba Mphahlele” side.
The ex Marumo Gallants mentor who was introduced to the Seleteng based side in the beginning of last month has already made an amazing impact in the National First Division league log standing.
He together with his assistant coach Amukelani “JayJay” Hlongwani took the club from the relegation zone to a respectable position six on the log after just five games. The team is now on position six with only a point behind fifth placed former Premier Soccer League club Maritzburg United.
Of the five games he participated in so far he won three and drew two with no loss whatsoever.
That is a total of 10 points in five game. With the league still in its tenth game Malesela’s side still has a good chance of fighting for promotion this season. Top of the table Orbit College and Hungry Lions who are currently leading the log with 22 and 19 points respectively have not been consistent enough so far.
Orbit lead Baroka who are currently on 14 points with eight points while Lions lead with only five from the same number of games. The log leaders have lost two league games already this season whereas the Lions drew four and lost one. Baroka’s next two games against these two top of the table teams this Saturday and next weekend will give a clear picture of what the future holds for the Limpopo side. They play Hungry Lions at home in Lebowakgomo this Saturday and top of the log Orbit College away at Royal Bafokeng next weekend.
