Baroka FC salvaged a much needed point at home with a 1-1 draw against Platinum City Rovers at home in Global Stadium.

Bakgaga ba Mphahlele started the game like a house on fire but failed to convert their chances. They dominated the game with their intricate passing game to the delight of their fans.

However it was the visitors who opened the scoring in the seventh minute of the first half via a brilliant finish from a counter attack move. Baroka player lost the ball in the middle of the park and City Rovers launched a quick counter attack move which resulted in an own goal by Kagiso Selemela.

The home side never panicked and kept playing the Dan Malesela way until they found the equalizer in the 39th minutes through a great header by striker Siyabonga Mtombeni. The halftime score was 1-1. The home side came back in the second half more stronger looking to find the winner but luck was not on their side.

 They brilliantly kept the ball away from their opponents most of the time and made more than twenty passes, but Rovers wall kept them at bay. The two sides shared the spoils.

Baroka are now having 28 points from 18 games. They are five points adrift of log leaders Orbit College who are leading with 33 points from the same number of games. Their next game is against 12th placed Pretoria Callies at home on Saturday.
