The Provincial playoffs for the Hollywood Bets teams are facing delays this year due to ongoing appeal cases in the Mopani and Sekhukhune regions.
As a result, SAFA in the province has postponed the provincial playoffs to the 27th and 28th of this month to allow the two regions to resolve their issues.
In Mopani, the highly anticipated Champ of Champs playoffs, initially scheduled for this weekend at Lulekani Stadium, have been postponed for the third time due to Mariveni United’s ongoing appeal case.
SAFA Mopani has informed the clubs of the new dates, which are set for the weekend of 20th and 21st July 2024.
In Sekhukhune, although the region has completed its league season, there is uncertainty surrounding the Champ of Champs playoffs this weekend. A pending case will decide the winner of group A by the end of this week. Two clubs, Royal Pirates and MJ United, are engaged in boardroom battles to determine the winner of the Stream A championship.
The DC will make a ruling on the matter by the end of this week, which might result in an appeal and arbitration, potentially leading to further postponement of games.
