ABC Motsepe league side Vondwe X1 Bullets has appointed former Premier Soccer League coach Owen Da Gama to replace their former coach Lufuno “Zambrotta” Ndou.

The Vhembe-based team lost their gifted coach “Zambrotta” to the ABC Motsepe League newcomers Selwane White Vultures earlier this month and surprised the soccer community with the announcement of Da Gama as their new head coach for the upcoming season.

This move reflects the club’s strategic ambition to gain promotion, especially after their impressive performances in the previous season, where they competed for the championship under “Zambrotta.”

Da Gama brings a wealth of experience to the team, having worked with notable teams such as Orlando Pirates, Platinum Stars, TS Galaxy, and Sekhukhune United, among others. His appointment has been praised by many soccer pundits, including former National First Division side Venda Football Club head coach Joel Masutha. Masutha, who was rumored to be the next head coach of the club, was quick to express that Da Gama’s experience will help the team compete for promotion this season.

He described Da Gama’s appointment as a positive move, particularly considering that the club is based in Da Gama’s hometown. “I think they made a good choice in appointing Da Gama as their new coach. He is from the same hometown, and I believe he is giving back to his community,” he said.
