The town of Tzaneen has been transformed into a bustling construction zone as large-scale road repair and maintenance projects are currently underway across several key streets.
The extensive works have resulted in the closure and partial closure of a number of major roads, significantly affecting traffic flow in and around the town. Among the streets impacted are Kew Street and Messer Street near Magic Build, Voortrekker Street from Aquapark Spar, Agatha Street via the Letaba Showgrounds, Plantina Street in the Industrial Area near the Tzaneen Testing Grounds, as well as Loop Street and Irving Street via Supa Quick.
Motorists are advised to prepare for traffic delays, including stop-and-go controls, as construction teams carry out repairs. Additional streets are also expected to undergo maintenance in the coming days, which may further impact traffic conditions.
Road users are urged to plan their journeys carefully by making use of alternative routes where possible. Patience and caution are strongly advised when driving through construction zones to ensure the safety of workers and other motorists. Members of the public are also requested to refrain from interfering with ongoing construction activities to allow the work to be completed efficiently and safely.
The municipality has issued an apology for the inconvenience caused and has thanked residents, businesses, and motorists for their understanding and cooperation. These road repairs form part of ongoing efforts to improve local infrastructure, enhance road safety, and provide better driving conditions for the community.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed about further developments and traffic updates as the project progresses.
