Nkowankowa Continental Coach Timmy Mashele
Nkowankowa Continental have confirmed Timmy Mashele will remain as the club’s head coach for the 2026/27 ABC Motsepe League season, ending speculation linking him with a move to Phalaborwa United.
Mashele will continue in the role after successfully steering Continental away from relegation last season.
Reports had suggested the experienced tactician had returned to Phalaborwa United before stepping aside following the appointment of former Black Leopards team manager Abel Makhubele as head coach.
However, Continental General Manager Thomas Bayana says Mashele has always remained the club’s coach.
“He is our coach. To my knowledge he has never left us from last season. Phalaborwa United borrowed him for a while and he was always our coach,” Bayana told Mopani Times.
Bayana also confirmed that Mashele is expected to begin preparations for the new season as Continental gears up for pre-season.
The club will, however, have a different look on the technical bench, with Mashele’s co-coach from last season, Peace Khosa, no longer part of the coaching setup.
Mashele is no stranger to success in Limpopo football, having guided Phalaborwa United to promotion to the ABC Motsepe League before taking charge at Continental during last season’s relegation battle.
With his future now settled, Continental will be hoping the experienced coach can build on last season’s survival mission and lead the club to a more competitive campaign in the upcoming ABC Motsepe League season.
