New Vondwe X1 Bullets coach Stanley Kgatla

Venda-based ABC Motsepe League outfit Vondwe X1 Bullets have appointed former Premier Soccer League midfielder Stanley “Bingo” Kgatla as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
The 45-year-old from Ga-Ramotshinyadi in Bolobedu returns to the Limpopo amateur ranks after spending time with Highlands Park’s development structures in Gauteng. Kgatla previously coached Winnerspark FC before rejoining Highlands Park.
The appointment continues Vondwe’s trend of recruiting coaches with strong professional pedigrees. Former PSL coach Owen Da Gama previously led the club before departing to join then-Premiership side Magezi FC. He was succeeded by former Santos midfielder Musa Nkondo, another coach with top-flight experience.
As a player, Kgatla enjoyed a lengthy PSL career, representing Platinum Stars, Mpumalanga Black Aces, AmaZulu and Highlands Park before retiring in 2016.
He transitioned into coaching and has since held positions with Sekhukhune United’s reserve team, African All Stars FC and Highlands Park FC.
Kgatla’s best coaching run came at African All Stars, where he guided the club to the top of their ABC Motsepe League stream. However, they narrowly missed out on a place in the 2022 national playoffs after losing to La Masia FC, who went on to secure promotion to the National First Division.
Vondwe will now hope Kgatla’s experience at both professional and amateur level can help the club mount a strong challenge in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League this season.
