SAFA SAB league referee Tebogo Mahasha has missed out on a golden opportunity to officiate in the ABC Motsepe league next season.
The talented young referee was invited by SAFA to undergo a referee’s fitness test session last Sunday at the University of Limpopo but failed to avail himself.
The Bolobedu born referee admitted to missing the test. “It’s true that I failed to attend the SAFA fitness test last Sunday. It was due to the fact that I couldn’t secure the doctor’s fitness certificate on time as per SAFA requirement. However, I still have hope that I will be invited to the next one which SAFA usually hold before the start of the new season” he said
The newbie referee was promoted from the LFA last year and did not disappoint. He handled all his SAB league games with class and made spot on decisions throughout his debut season.
His excellent performance and superb fitness was at some point recognised by SAFA Mopani regional league co-ordinator, Reggie Rabapane.
