Giyani Happy Boys head coach Mpho Maleka says he has been invited by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to do Confederation of African Football (CAF) B licence qualification in their country.

The former Moroka Swallows and Mpumalanga Black Aces striker will join other professional coaches in Zambia next month until he completes the course in mid-June this year.

“I am very delighted to have received a call to join Zambian coaches in their CAF B licence course.  They told me that they have seen the good work I have been doing for South African football. It’s good to know that my work as a coach is recognised outside the country” he said.

Maleka’s coaching expertise became evident at Premier Soccer League level when he defeated Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in 2021 before the team was renamed  Marumo Gallants. He left TTM a year later to help rejuvenated ABC Motsepe league side Winnerspark on a short stint whom he also left for his current club Giyani Happy Boys.

The Giyani side finished second in the ABC Motsepe league stream A under his guidance this season but are still fighting for a place in the Champ of Champs and playoffs in the board room.
