Top Marumo Gallants striker, Judas Moseamedi says the new technical team led by interim coach Ray Mdaka and Dylan Kerr is the reason behind his side’s good form in both the Confederation of African Football Cup competition and the Premier Soccer League.

“Bahlabani Bantwa” as Gallants is affectionately known have been doing very well recently since  Bolobedu born Coach Mdaka took over as interim head coach from suspended Dan Malesela.

According to Moseamedi, Gallants’s recent breakthrough is due to the technical team’s ability to believe in the players. “Unlike other coaches who rely on patterns and strict tactics, the new technical team allows us to play to our ability. It is this kind of approach that gave us confidence to do well in recent games both in Africa and in domestic league” he said.

Gallants have surprisingly made it out of the CAF Confederations Cup group stage in style topping the log with twelve points from six matches. They won four games and lost only two away games to Algerian side USM Alger 2-0 and Libyan side Al Akhdar 4-1.

They are however faced with a mammoth task of beating Egyptian side Pyramids FC in the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup quarterfinal match away in Egypt this weekend.

Meanwhile, in the domestic league they are on position thirteen with twenty eight points from twenty seven games. They need to win all their three remaining games against bottom of the log Maritsburg United away from home, league champions Sundowns at home and relegation threatened Swallows away, to insure safety from relegation.
