The coaching trio at Black Leopards is poised to regain their winning momentum this weekend following a narrow 2-1 loss to Pretoria Callies.
This comes after the Polokwane-based team ignited excitement among their loyal supporters with the addition of three seasoned coaches, who kicked off their tenure with a commanding 3-0 victory over Cape Town Spurs just two weeks ago.
“Lidodaduvha” made waves by appointing former Moroka Swallows coach Zeca Marques as head coach, along with the experienced Joel Masutha, former Baroka mentor, and the highly qualified Amos Makhubele as his assistant coaches.
This dynamic trio stepped in to replace Ghanaian coach Maxwell Konadu, who struggled to deliver positive results, notably suffering defeats against teams at the bottom of the standings, including losses of 2-0 to Venda FC and 1-0 to Leruma United.
Leopards brought in these new coaches with a clear objective: achieving promotion to the Premier Soccer League. Currently, they sit in 10th place with 26 points from 19 games, trailing leaders Durban City by 11 points, second-placed Orbit College by 7 points, and third-placed JDR Stars by 6 points.
With 11 games remaining, the team has the potential to secure a maximum of 27 points, reinforcing their historic performance in previous league seasons. Their impressive 2017/18 campaign saw them finish in second place with 50 points, ultimately leading to their promotion to the PSL.
This Sunday, Leopards are set to make a statement against JDR Stars at home in Venda, determined to get back to winning ways and assert their place in the league.
