Zungu Nkosi, the newly appointed coach of Thlothlokwe Golden Syrup, is filled with confidence as his team prepares to secure their first win this weekend against the ABC Motsepe League stream B log leaders, Vondwe XI Bullets.
This ABC Motsepe League clash at Mamanyoha Stadium presents a great opportunity for the Bolobedu-based team to showcase their resilience and potential.
Having recently taken over from Lebashe FC, Nkosi is fully committed to turning around the fortunes of a team currently sitting at the bottom of the league table. With no wins in 14 matches and only three points acquired from three draws, the challenge of avoiding relegation is significant. However, Nkosi is determined to rise to the occasion. They trail Winnerspark, who are positioned just above them, but Nkosi views this as a stepping stone rather than a stumbling block.
“We have made significant changes to position ourselves for success and to avoid relegation. I am confident we will beat Vondwe; we have the talent and drive to make it happen,” he stated decisively. Nkosi has strengthened the lineup by bringing in six experienced players, including new goalkeeper Siya Dlamini, former Golden Arrows defender Thulani Mabitsela, Fortune Rixaka, and ex-TS Galaxy attacking midfielder Simphiwe “Vinicius” Cele. His strategic integration of these players has allowed him to effectively assess the team’s strengths over the past two weeks.
“The new players are fitting in seamlessly, and the recent break has allowed us to prepare thoroughly,” he explained. “The atmosphere in the camp is charged with optimism, and the players believe in their ability to secure victory. Once we achieve that first win, the momentum will follow. We are eager and ready to fight for our place in the league,” he said
