Thlothlokwe Golden Syrup coach Zungu Nkosi is confident that his revitalized team will secure a victory against Black Leopards this weekend.

The two sides, both fighting against relegation, will meet in a crucial ABC Motsepe League match at Mamanyoha Stadium on Friday.

Currently at the bottom of the standings with seven points from 16 games, Thlothlokwe recently celebrated their first victory of the season, defeating a tough United Artist team away at Thohoyandou Stadium. The team is determined to earn their second three points to improve their chances of avoiding relegation. Meanwhile, Black Leopards are also in need of a win to escape the relegation zone after suffering a disappointing 4-1 loss at home to Tzaneen United last Sunday.

In their previous encounter this season, Thlothlokwe was defeated 3-0 by Black Leopards at Peter Mokaba Stadium. However, Zungu believes his team is now stronger and better prepared.

He has made important adjustments to the squad by bringing in experienced players who can make a difference, as evidenced by their recent draw against a strong opponent, Vondwe X1 Bullets. This match will be Zungu’s third game since taking over from Coach Moses “Pokker” Malatji, and he is determined that his team will secure a decisive victory against Black Leopards. “We will win; it’s essential. A draw is not an option. We must win at all costs, as both teams are fighting to avoid relegation,” he asserted confidently. Kick-off is at 15h00
