Josy United Chairperson Joseph Machethe

After a heartbreaking conclusion to what was a promising season, Josy United FC is preparing to return to the Molototsi Stream with renewed determination and one clear mission: to fight for the top spot.

The team narrowly missed out on the league title, losing it in the final minutes to Hlahla Northern Bucks despite leading the standings for most of the season. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but this setback has only strengthened their resolve.

Club Chairperson Joseph Machethe spoke confidently about their intentions for the upcoming season.

“We’re going back there to fight,” he declared. “We’re not afraid of the Molototsi Stream anymore. We understand how it operates now — the challenges, the hostility, the intimidation. This time, we’re entering with experience and clear purpose.”

Machethe, however, openly expressed a preference for a return to the calmer Baobab Stream, where the team previously enjoyed a more peaceful football environment.

“If SAFA Mopani could return us to the Baobab Stream, we’d be very happy. Our players dislike conflict — they just want to play football,” he explained. “In Baobab, football is played in a spirit of respect and peace, and that’s where we thrived.”

Nonetheless, Machethe made it clear that Josy United FC is not backing down from the challenge.

“Whether it’s Baobab or Molototsi, we are going to give it everything,” he said. “Last season taught us valuable lessons. We were bullied, frustrated, and even had to call the police during one match just to restore order — but we never gave up. That experience has toughened us.”

He also praised the players for their commitment throughout the season.

“This was our best team ever,” Machethe stated. “They showed heart, and I believe in them. We’re building on what we started, and next season we’re aiming higher.”

Josy United FC may have lost the title by inches, but they have gained miles in character and courage. As they prepare to step back into the competitive atmosphere of the Molototsi Stream, one thing is clear: they are not just returning; they are returning with unfinished business.
