Nwamitwa’s rising star, Dazel Mkhari, has signaled a bright future ahead with her captivating standout performances in this year’s Engen Knockout Challenge.
This young sensation has proven herself to be a force to be reckoned with, emerging as the top goalscorer in the girls’ under-20 category with an impressive six goals.
Mkhari’s success in the tournament was not limited to individual accolades. She played a crucial role in guiding her team, SAFA Academy, to a commendable third-place finish. Mkhari’s achievements have undoubtedly placed her in the spotlight, and her future in football looks promising.
Reflecting on her journey, Mkhari expressed gratitude to her former coach, Monica Mathonzi of Sisters FC, who played a pivotal role in discovering and nurturing her talent. “If it wasn’t for coach Monica, I wouldn’t be here,” Mkhari said, acknowledging the impact of her coach’s guidance and support.
Under Mathonzi’s mentorship, Mkhari developed essential skills, including ball control and passing. More importantly, Mathonzi instilled in her the resilience to overcome challenges and believe in her abilities. Mkhari’s heartfelt appreciation for her coach is a testament to the profound impact that dedicated mentors can have on young athletes.
