National First Division side Venda FC has strengthened its technical team in preparation for the new season, which kicks off this weekend.

The Vhembe-based club will travel to Athlone Stadium on Saturday to face newcomers Cape Town City, who are making their debut in the NFD following their relegation from the top flight. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00.

Venda FC has appointed the experienced Clinton Larsen as the new head coach. The former Magezi boss, who previously led the Limpopo side to promotion to the Premier Soccer League, is expected to provide the stability and direction that the team needs after narrowly escaping relegation last season.

Joining Larsen is a revamped backroom staff that includes Solomon Luvheng (Assistant Coach), Olivier Kouadio (Goalkeeper Coach), Mpho Malope (Performance Analyst), Nkululeko Monaheng (Conditioning Coach), Wisani Nemuremelane (Masseur), and Justice Mtileni (Chief Scout).

This combination of experience and fresh energy in the dugout is expected to help the club climb higher in the NFD standings this season.

After a challenging previous season, the team aims to compete at the top end of the table. With the arrival of Coach Larsen and the new technical staff, there is a strong belief that Venda FC can achieve great things this year.

The match against Cape Town City will pose a challenging early test for Larsen’s squad, but there is a sense of optimism in Vhembe that a new era is about to begin.
