In the heart of Bolobedu, where dusty fields meet unpolished dreams, one man has quietly built a bridge between rural passion and professional football.
His name is Tshepo Sebopetsa — a man whose vision and persistence are changing the future of young athletes through his academy, TES Development, based in Kgapane.
Sebopetsa, known affectionately as the youth development guru, has spent years nurturing raw talent and turning it into excellence. His work has already borne remarkable fruit: Neo Lebopa, once a promising youngster under his guidance, rose to become captain of the Kaizer Chiefs development team, later leading Orlando Pirates’ feeder side Pele Pele, and eventually earning a place at La Masia in the National First Division (NFD).
He also helped shape the careers of Letabo Ramaphoko, who went on to play for Marumo Gallants in the PSL, and Tebogo Modiba, who featured for Black Leopards during their top-flight era. These are just a few names from a growing list of players whose journeys began under Sebopetsa’s watchful eye.
At TES Development, formerly known as Tshepo Academy, Sebopetsa focuses on grooming players between 13 and 21 years old — instilling not only football skills but also discipline, focus, and a professional mindset. The academy competes in the SAFA Bolobedu Frank Moloto Development League, where results speak for themselves: the U13 team recently lifted the league title without a single defeat, while the U15s finished as runners-up.
Despite limited resources, Sebopetsa’s dream burns brighter than ever. “Talent is everywhere,” he says, “but opportunity is not. My mission is to make sure that the boys from our villages are seen, trained, and given a fair chance to shine on the biggest stages.”
As the new season unfolds, TES Development continues to scout fresh faces across Bolobedu, seeking not just skill but commitment and character. For many aspiring youngsters, Sebopetsa’s program represents more than football — it’s a lifeline, a platform, and a promise.
Young players or their parents eager to be part of this growing movement can contact Coach Tshepo Sebopetsa at 076 968 3724.
