Football fans in Kgapane have reason to celebrate as the township’s premier December tournament makes a comeback this festive season.
The Top 16 Soccer Tournament, which will feature Under-15, Under-17, Senior Men, and Masters teams, is scheduled to take place at the Kgapane Local Ground from 21–30 December 2025. The tournament is sponsored by Pikaro Rabothata, the new owner of Mphenama, and promises a series of exciting matches and competitive play.
December football tournaments have long been a highlight for the community, drawing residents to the township’s local ground to enjoy spirited competition and festive celebrations. This year’s edition aims to continue that tradition while providing structured opportunities for youth, senior, and veteran players.
The tournament features generous prizes across all categories:
Senior Men (16 teams)
1st Prize: R25 000
2nd Prize: R15 000
3rd Prize: R8 000
4th Prize: R5 000
Trophies and medals awarded up to third place

Under-17 (8 teams)

Clubs wishing to participate in the senior men’s category are advised to register early, as only 16 teams will be accommodated.
