The Mamothipa Soccer Tournament will host a headline exhibition match featuring the Mamelodi Sundowns Legends against the Orlando Pirates Legends at the Aces Sports Ground in Ga-Dikgale.

The eagerly anticipated fixture is scheduled for 27 December 2025 and is expected to draw strong support from football enthusiasts across the region.

Mamelodi Sundowns legend Daniel “Mambush” Mudau confirmed that a star-studded Sundowns Legends side will take to the field. Among the former greats expected to feature are Cameroonian international Roger Fetumba, Surprise Moriri, Hlompho Kekana, Esrom Nyandiro, Shakes Ngwenya, Eric Ramasike, Bennen Nguni, and several other notable former professionals.

Mudau urged supporters to attend the event in large numbers, noting that such an opportunity to see former Sundowns and Pirates stars competing live is not one to be missed. He encouraged football fans to come to the tournament, emphasising that there is no better way to spend the day for anyone who truly loves the game.

The match is set to bring nostalgia, entertainment, and a celebration of South African football heritage as two of the country’s most iconic clubs revive their historic rivalry through their legendary former players.
