Ramatlaohle Ladies have made history after securing promotion to the Hollywoodbets Super League, following a dominant 3–0 victory over the University of the Free State in the semifinals of the SAFA National Women’s Championship playoffs earlier today.
The Limpopo side produced a confident and composed performance, sealing their place in the final and confirming their elevation to the top flight of South African women’s football. Their semifinal win means they have already achieved the ultimate prize—promotion—regardless of the outcome in the final.
They will face the winner of the second semifinal between Super Strikers Ladies and Diepsloot Ladies. Importantly, both finalists are guaranteed promotion, meaning Saturday’s showdown will be played strictly to determine the 2025 SAFA National Women’s Championship title, not promotion.
The highly anticipated final will take place on Saturday and will be broadcast live on SABC Sport as well as on various SABC radio stations, giving the nation the chance to witness who will lift this year’s trophy.
Ramatlaohle’s achievement marks a major moment for Limpopo football. They become the fourth women’s team from the province to secure a spot in the Hollywoodbets Super League, joining Ma’Indies Ladies from Venda (now relegated), First Touch Academy, and Copperbelt Ladies, currently sitting 13th and 8th on the Super League table respectively.
Their success continues to affirm Limpopo as one of the strongest nurseries of women’s football talent in the country. With grit, quality, and remarkable teamwork, Ramatlaohle have earned their place among the elite—ushering in a new era for the club and inspiring young footballers across the province.
