Mphehli Real Rovers FC are on top of the Baobab Stream log.

Mphehli Real Rovers are setting the early pace in the Holywoodbets League after climbing to the top of the Baobab Stream with a perfect nine points from their opening three matches. The Kgapane-based side, now in their third season in the division, declared at the beginning of the year that promotion was their main ambition after finishing fourth last season. So far, they are proving that they mean business.
Rovers opened their campaign in style with a commanding 3–0 home victory over Sekgosese FC at the Kgapane local ground. They carried that momentum into their second match, travelling away to defeat Black Antelope 2–0, showcasing discipline, structure, and clinical finishing.
Their third win came this past Sunday when they collected a 2–0 walk-over victory against Matsena Giant Killers, who were unable to produce valid player cards and therefore forfeited the match. The result kept Mphehli’s 100% record intact and placed them at the summit of the stream.
The Baobab Stream has historically been dominated by sides such as Josy United and FC Rellen, while last season’s champions Pipa Young Stars remain strong contenders this year. Pipa are currently sitting in third position after a mixed start—one win, one draw, and one defeat—but remain within striking distance as the season progresses.
Mphehli’s closest rivals, Ramaroka Super Aces, are also on nine points and remain favourites to fight for the stream title. Only goal difference currently separates the two teams.
Mphehli now face a decisive weekend that could shape their season. On Saturday, they host Free Boys at the Kgapane local ground in a match they are expected to approach with full confidence. Less than 24 hours later, they travel to Senwamokgope for a tough showdown against FC Rellen on Sunday at 15h00—a fixture that promises to test their character and title credentials.
Two wins this weekend would not only strengthen Mphehli’s promotion campaign but also ensure they head into the Christmas recess at the top of the log—exactly where they intend to be.
