Newly appointed Magesi FC director of football Morgan Mammila has boldly declared that Dikwena tša Meetse will secure an immediate return to the Betway Premiership.

The former Chippa United and Baroka FC coach, who was unveiled alongside new head coach Kabelo Sibiya this week, says the club’s mission is clear after dropping to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

“The plan is simple. By the end of this season Magesi must be in the PSL,” Mammila said.

“By December the club must be clear and there must be good signs that Magesi is going back to the PSL. We all have one common goal and that is what we are going to do.”

Mammila also revealed ambitious plans to establish the club as Limpopo’s football powerhouse through the construction of a permanent football base.

“We are building our own village, Magesi Village, where we will have our own stadium.

“We will target all the Under-23 players in the province so that we can house them in our village. We want to make Magesi the football hub of Limpopo before we can talk about other provinces.”

The experienced football administrator said he accepted the role to help the club and the province bounce back after what he described as “lightning striking” Limpopo following the relegation of three clubs.

Mammila will oversee Magesi’s technical structure, player recruitment, youth development pathway and the club’s overall football philosophy as they target an immediate return to the top flight.

Meanwhile, Magesi have appointed Kabelo Sibiya as their new head coach, replacing Allan Freese ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. Sibiya joins the club after leading Highbury FC to a sixth-place finish in last season’s Motsepe Foundation Championship.
