IEC’s last Ward 10 ANC Candidate Conny Ramothwala with Volunteers at the Motupa-Kgomo Primary School Voting Station during the Voter Registration Weekend.

Fresh from handing her Mokwape Edwin Malatji Branch Executive Committee a heavy defeat at the Provincial List Committee, Mohlago Constance “Conny” Ramothwala has launched a massive voter outreach program.

The Provincial List Committee handed her the official candidature for Ward 10 after dismissing an appeal against an earlier Provincial Dispute Resolution Committee verdict that had ruled in her favour. With her position as the legitimate African National Congress candidate fully secured, Ramothwala immediately shifted her focus to the ground.

The campaign drive came just ahead of the Independent Electoral Commission last Voter Registration Weekend, the upcoming proclamation of the election date, and the final closure of the Voters Roll.

Branch Chairperson Molebatsi Masedi paid a quick visit to the campaign trail. He provided motivation to volunteers and community members, emphasizing how crucial registering and voting are to protecting freedom and democracy.

Throughout Saturday and Sunday, Ramothwala crisscrossed all five voting stations in the ward, which spans three villages. She worked alongside Voting District Coordinators and Volunteers to encourage community members to visit their voting stations. The outreach team urged residents to register as new voters, update their registration details, and verify their voting information before the deadlines.

Ramothwala expressed confidence that the branch would put past divisions behind it and focus on securing a decisive victory for the ANC in the upcoming elections.
