A vibrant outdoor venue is bringing new life to the local area.
Caorse Matlou is the mind behind the popular Stream Lounge, a unique spot built directly over running water. After spending four years planning the project and seven months constructing it, his vision is now a reality—becoming a favourite destination for those looking to relax, enjoy nature, and listen to great music.
The stream itself holds a special place in the local landscape, naturally dividing the Moleketla and Relela villages in Bolobedu South while serving as a central point that brings the two communities together. What started as a modest dream is rapidly growing into a full-scale entertainment hub for residents and visitors alike.
Big Events and Live Performances
The venue proved its potential earlier this year on 5 April 2026, when it hosted the *Festival by the Stream*. The event drew a large crowd of music lovers and featured a stacked line up of popular local artists, including DJ Sgibo, Prince Benzer, DJ Mronza, DJ Kunene, DJ AZAPO (from Moleketla), and Alex Matlala MCiing, alongside several other talented performers.
With crystal-clear sound and a professional stage setup provided by Ishmo Records and Production, the festival proved the lounge can host top-tier entertainment. Guests relaxed near the water while enjoying a full day of live performances.
While activity naturally slowed during the colder months, the team is actively preparing to launch a fresh line up of major shows as soon as winter ends.
Family-Friendly Expansion Plans
Caorse’s vision extends well beyond an adult nightlife spot—he aims to transform the venue into a comprehensive riverfront entertainment hub for the whole family.
Upcoming plans include dedicated, safe play areas for children, allowing parents to unwind by the water while their kids stay entertained nearby.
While the project awaits potential funding from an overseas investor, Caorse is making an urgent appeal to local government departments and private investors to help fully realize the “Stream Dream.” With additional capital and local backing, the team plans to expand seating, upgrade facilities, and build out the new kids’ zone.
A Bright Future Ahead
The community has warmly embraced the project. Eddie Mamokgere, a well-known local jazz enthusiast, shared his excitement, noting that an entertainment concept like this is long overdue for the area. He highlighted the need for a safe, family-friendly space where local talent can shine and people can gather peacefully.
With strong community backing, solid groundwork, and upcoming investments, Caorse Matlou is set to turn this innovative concept into a major regional success. As warmer weather returns, the Stream Lounge is ready to take centre stage.
