Winnerspark coach Joel Mongalo has made a firm proclamation: he will bite his elbow if his team faces relegation from the ABC Motsepe League this season.
The seasoned coach, who previously led stream B giants The Dolphins FC to the playoffs two seasons back, rejoined Winnerspark during the mid-season after the club was sold to his cousin, Ramuthaka Dagalo, who co-owns the club with Aubrey Ngobeni.
Taking charge of a team that struggled to secure victories, Mongalo has already transformed their fortunes, helping them clinch nine crucial points, including a notable win against Maruleng Celtics. With a rematch set for this Saturday at Makhonde Stadium, Mongalo is unwaveringly confident.
“We will survive. I guarantee it. I will bite my elbow if we don’t. We just need a draw or a win against Maruleng Celtics to secure our safety. After that, we’ll take down United Artist, Thlothlokwe Golden Syrup, and Musina United.”
Mongalo’s ambitions don’t end there; he firmly believes Winnerspark is destined to dominate the stream A championship next season. “We will win the league next year. I have no doubt about it. I am a coach who always strives for championships. However, I’ve noticed that the players here need to elevate their game to meet the standard I expect,” he asserted.
