Football fans in Lebowakgomo are in for an exciting treat this Saturday as the Baroka Preseason Top 4 Tournament kicks off at Mafori Stadium in Baroka Village. This one-day spectacle will feature four competitive teams: Baroka FC, Venda FC, Kruger United, and Leicesterford City FC, all vying for preseason bragging rights.

The action begins at 09:30 when the home side, Baroka FC, takes on Venda FC in the opening match. At 11:30, Leicesterford City FC will clash with Kruger United in the second semifinal. Following that, the third-place playoff will take place at 13:00, leading up to the grand finale at 15:00. Best of all, entrance to all matches is free, allowing fans to enjoy top-tier football at no cost.

This tournament gives National First Division (NFD) teams a chance to fine-tune their squads ahead of the new season. For Baroka, the stakes are particularly high. Head coach Dan Malesela, who has been tasked with leading the Limpopo-based side from the start of the season, is expected to field a mix of experienced players and new signings. With the club openly aiming for promotion back to the top flight, Malesela intends to treat this competition as more than just a friendly warm-up.

Baroka’s preparations have been bolstered by the recent launch of a new sponsorship deal with Mafori, which has improved morale and resources for the team. The club’s management has promised supporters a memorable season, and this weekend’s tournament will offer the first real glimpse of their readiness.

For fans, Saturday promises an event filled with competitive football, local talent, and community spirit. With free entry, a vibrant atmosphere, and the expectation of exciting football, all roads lead to Mafori Stadium this weekend.
