Nkowankowa township in Tzaneen has produced numerous football talents over the years, including one of Limpopo’s most promising young coaches — Peace Khosa. Currently in charge of ABC Motsepe League side Nkowankowa Continental, Khosa is preparing for what he hopes will be a historic season.
This will be his second consecutive season in charge since returning to the club last year. However, his relationship with Continental goes back further; he was the coach who initially guided them from the Hollywoodbets League into the ABC Motsepe League before moving on to coach Tzaneen United. At United, he achieved notable success, leading the team to the playoffs after convincingly winning their ABC Motsepe League Stream B, only to narrowly miss out on a place to the national playoffs for promotion to the National First Division (NFD) after a defeat to Mpheni Defenders.
Now back at Continental, Khosa’s ambitions are clear: he aims for promotion to the NFD. The club has spent two seasons in the ABC Motsepe League, and the coach believes the time has come to take the next step. “We’ve built a foundation, and now it’s about making history,” he said.
In a bold move, Khosa has reshaped his squad ahead of the new campaign. He retained only six players from last season and introduced several new signings, most of whom are under-age prospects. This youthful approach aims to create a high-energy, hungry team capable of playing dynamic football.
Khosa’s career development reflects his ambition on the pitch. He is currently preparing for the third stage of his CAF B License coaching course, having already completed the first two stages. The next step will be the practical phase, attended alongside some well-known figures in South African football, including: Kagiso Dikgacoi (former Bafana Bafana midfielder), Amukelani “JJ” Hlongwani (Baroka FC assistant coach), Paulous Masehe (Sekhukhune United assistant coach), Esrom Nyandoro (former Mamelodi Sundowns player), Calvin Sosibo (former Wits and Kaizer Chiefs left winger), Derrick Spencer (former Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns defender).
With a combination of tactical knowledge, proven promotion experience, and a burning desire to succeed, Coach Peace Khosa is determined to lead Nkowankowa Continental to new heights. If his plans succeed, Nkowankowa township could soon have a team in the National First Division — an achievement that would inspire the next generation of footballers in the area.
