Selwane White Vultures have made a major statement of intent by securing the services of former Venda Academy and Marumo Gallants striker Judas Moseamedi, as the ambitious ABC Motsepe League outfit looks to reignite their push for success this season.
The 32-year-old forward brings a wealth of experience and pedigree, having plied his trade both locally and abroad, and his arrival is expected to inject firepower, leadership and belief into a Vultures squad desperate to rediscover last season’s impressive form.
Moseamedi joins the Limpopo-based side from Venda FC, where he featured in the National First Division during the previous campaign. Before that, he enjoyed a stint in the Premier Soccer League with Marumo Gallants, before earning a move to Tunisia after his short-term contract with the then-relegated Gallants came to an end.
His overseas move saw him sign a two-year deal with El Gawafel Sportives de Gafsa, who were newly promoted into the Tunisian top flight at the time. However, his stay in North Africa was brief, and he soon returned home to South Africa, where he continued his career with Venda FC.
Now back in familiar territory, Moseamedi is expected to play a pivotal role in guiding Selwane White Vultures back to the levels that once made them serious title contenders. Last season, the club mounted an impressive championship challenge under coach Lefuno “Zambrotta” Ndou, enjoying a remarkable unbeaten run before his shock dismissal — a decision that stunned many within local football circles.
The club has since struggled to recapture that momentum, and the signing of Moseamedi is seen as a clear move to restore confidence, experience and cutting edge in the final third.
His arrival comes at a time when the club is also dealing with off-field controversy following their dramatic walk-off last Saturday during their league clash against bottom-of-the-log Nkowankowa Continental. The match, played at Nkowankowa Stadium, was abandoned in the second half with over 20 minutes remaining after Vultures protested a contentious penalty decision, with the score locked at 1-1.
Moseamedi was not included in the starting line-up for that encounter, but his presence in the squad going forward is expected to provide much-needed stability and attacking threat as the team navigates both the football and disciplinary challenges that lie ahead.
With proven goal-scoring ability, top-flight experience and international exposure, the seasoned striker could well be the missing piece in Selwane White Vultures’ quest to reclaim their competitive edge and reassert themselves as serious contenders in the ABC Motsepe League.
