Mighty FC boss Mighty Tjale

There is no breathing space at the top of the ABC Motsepe League Stream B—only pressure, tension, and a title race that refuses to separate.

Mighty FC may be sitting at the summit with 33 points from 18 games, but their position is anything but comfortable. Every point matters, every match feels like a final, and right behind them, the chasing pack is closing in fast.

Ngwaabe City Motors, known in football circles as The Mechanics, are just one point behind—and crucially, they still have a game in hand. It’s the kind of advantage that can quietly shift the balance of power at any moment.

Not far off is Ramatlaohle United, sitting in third place and only two points behind the leaders. In Stream B, the gap between first and third is razor-thin—making it one of the most unpredictable races in the ABC Motsepe League this season.

It’s a completely different picture compared to Stream A, where one team has taken full control. Here, no one is safe.

For Mighty FC, this moment feels familiar. They have been here before—on top, in control—only to let it slip when it mattered most. That memory still lingers, and this time, they know there is no margin for error.

Under the leadership of seasoned football figure Mighty Tjale, the club carries both experience and expectation. The belief is there—but so is the pressure.

This weekend could be another turning point. Mighty FC face Gosebo United at Mapodile Stadium on Saturday, a fixture they must win to stay in control of their own destiny. But elsewhere, the spotlight will also shine on Polokwane Academy Sports Ground, where Ngwaabe City Motors take on Makotopong Bahumi in a clash that could shake the top of the table.

Ramatlaohle United get the weekend underway on Friday against the University of Limpopo at Mahwelereng Stadium. For them, anything less than three points could be costly in a race this tight.

At this stage of the season, it is no longer just about playing well—it is about holding nerve, handling pressure, and seizing the moment. Because in Stream B, the title won’t be given. It will be fought for—right until the very end.
