Former Tzaneen United star midfielder Thulani Sikhosana was on top of his game for his new club Baroka FC in his debut match against Black Leopards last Sunday at Global Stadium in Lebowakgomo.

“Rashford” as Thulani is famously known to his faithful supporters was surprisingly included in Baroka’s new coach Stan Nkoane’s starting line-up and he did not disappoint. Although he played in a defensive midfield position he however played with sheerclass winning all the tackles in midfield and second balls.

It was his outstanding performance that earned him his first ninety minutes game in the very competitive Motsepe Foundation championship league.

”There was too much pressure on me because it was my first game in the national first division and also for Baroka, but I think I played well. NFD is more professional in approach to the game and the players use experience to their advantage” he said.  Thulani was signed by Baroka two weeks ago for an undisclosed amount of money in a three year deal.

However, according to Tzaneen United owner Thinus Mafologela his team did not charge Baroka for the 20 year old player.  “We did not charge them anything for the player because we did not want to stand in his way, but Baroka kindly offered us money for three soccer kits and balls. The only deal we made with them was that we should be entitled to at least 15 percent of the amount of money he is sold for if and when they do sell the player.
